Legality of Participating in Fee-Based Tournaments For Prizes
Rules governing fee based tournaments and games of skill with cash prizes are governed by each individual U.S. state, not the federal government. The following states prohibit participation in fee-based games of skill: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Maryland, North Dakota, Tennessee, and Vermont. Prior to establishing an account, or participating in any game or tournament on this Site, it is your sole responsibility to confirm the laws of the state, province and/or country in which you reside and from which you access the Site. It is your exclusive responsibility to know and obey the laws in your jurisdiction. If you open an account and/or participate in any game or tournament on the Site while located in a prohibited jurisdiction, you will be violating the law of that jurisdiction and these Terms and Conditions. Your account will be suspended or terminated immediately. All winnings may be voided at the exclusive judgment of the Site.
GamerColiseum, its owners and affiliates make no implicit or explicit representations or warranties regarding your legal right to participate in any game of skill or contest set up or arranged through GC.com. You consent to a hold harmless agreement such that GC is not liable if the laws in your jurisdiction prohibit or restrict you from participating in tournaments of skill or contests on the Site.
This Contract does not in any way propose or form a financial partnership between GamerColiseum.com and GC account holders/members.
You agree that any suit brought against GC arising out of this Agreement will be governed by the exclusive jurisdiction of the state courts for Waukesha County, Wisconsin, U.S.A. and federal courts in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, U.S.A. No individual shall make a motion to discharge or reassign any case filed in accord with this clause on the foundation of improper venue, individual jurisdiction, or the inconvenience of any individual or witness.
How do I figure out my net winnings?
All matches (not including tournaments) will carry a service fee. The service fee for any wager less than or equal to $5.00 is a $.50 fee. All wagers over $5.00 will carry a 10% service fee. Tournaments do not carry service fees. The jackpot is stated up front as well as the buy in amount.
The IRS requires us to compute net winnings as your entire winnings minus the entry fees for the games/matches that you won. For example, if you enter into a head to head game/match for $10.00 (this includes both your wager and service fee) and you win, your GC account will be credited with $18.00. Your net winnings for this particular game/match will be $8.00 (your winnings minus the entry fee). Entry fees for games that are not won are not factored into your net winnings.
Winnings In Excess of $600.00 In A Given Year
If you are a U.S citizen and your net winnings exceed $600.00 (USD) in any given calendar year, GamerColiseum.com is obliged by the United States Internal Revenue Service to report these winnings. When you reach this mark, we will request that you submit a W-9 form. If you decide not to submit this form, GC is required to withhold 28% of your prize money and send it to the IRS.
GamerColiseum, in conformity with IRS rules and regulations, will forward all tax withholdings to the U.S. IRS. These withholdings will not be refundable to you following their remittance to the IRS. If you have further questions or concerns related to the withholding of these winnings, please consult with a tax advisor to discuss your individual tax circumstances.

Posting and Accepting Competitive Matches
GamerColiseum.com provides a medium for you to organize and track competitive games of skill against fellow gamers. GC offers a variety of competitive options to test and challenge your gaming skills. These include: (1) Head-to-Head Challenges, (2) User Initiated Tournaments, and (3) Administrative Initiated Bracket Tournaments. Only games of skill are offered on this Site. Gambling or betting on games of chance is strictly prohibited.
When you are ready to compete in a head-to-head game of your choice, you will be looking for an opponent. You have several options available:
- You can leave a message/post a challenge for a particular gamer in their mailbox
- You can post a challenge declaring your desire to play a particular game in the Shout Box.
- You can check out matches posted by a fellow GC member by clicking on the console of your choice and viewing the challenges available. The challenge will include the gamer tag of the person posting the challenge as well as the terms for the challenge posted.
- You can create a match of your own. Start by clicking on the console you will be using to play your match. Click on the “Create Match? button just to the left of the game you are creating the match for. Set your wager, select the number of participants and post the Terms/Game play settings for the match. When you are finished click the Create Match button in the bottom right corner. Your match will appear under the console you selected while you are awaiting an opponent.
- Also, fellow gamers can be located in Forums
- If you choose to cancel a match at any time prior to it being accepted by another GC member, click on the console of your choice, find your posted match, click “View Match Details? and follow the prompters available.
All gamers must have an account with GC.com in order to enter into a competitive match for cash on this Site.
Rules of the Coliseum
You agree to abide by all Rules of the Coliseum set forth by Gamer Coliseum and available for your reference on this Site. You further agree to periodically review these Rules for any updates or changes and to adhere to the most recent/updated version of these Rules.
Head-To-Head Competitions
Head-to-Head competitions allow gamers to battle each other in either 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, or 4 vs. 4 player matches. To post a challenge to a particular gamer, click on the username of your choice and then send your challenge to them. The player initiating the challenge invite chooses the game & posts the rules of the game as well as the proposed entry fee. Then wait for your opponent to receive the invitation to battle and either accept or decline. Invitations for head-to-head games remain open for twenty-four (24) hours.
To send a competitive challenge invitation open to any fellow GC member, click on the “Create a Match? button from your Dashboard and choose the platform, game, number of participants, and post your wager. Then wait for a competitor to respond. Accepting a posted competitive challenge is at the discretion of each GC member. To accept a competitive challenge, both players agree upon & set up the game rules and both/all players accepting the challenge then pay the competitive entry fee.
- Use Player feedback ratings to match yourself against other players.
- Once a competitive challenge is accepted by all players entering a match, the entry fees will be withdrawn from each player’s individual GC account. The competitive fee consists of the entry fee minus a service fee. For all games with an entry fee up to and including $5.00, the service fee will be $.50. Any game with an entry fee greater than $5.00 will carry a 10% service fee off that entry fee. For example, a match with a $7.00 entry fee will result in a $.70 service fee. So, a Head-to-Head (1 vs. 1) match would result in each participant wagering the $7.00 - ($.70 is retained by GC as a service fee). The payout/jackpot for this particular match would be $12.60 ($6.30 x 2). The service fee will not be refunded for any reason after a competitive challenge becomes an accepted challenge.
- A competitive challenge can be cancelled at any time prior to another gamer accepting the challenge. If the challenge is withdrawn, the entire challenge fee will be refunded to the account from which it was initially drawn.
- If you post or accept a competitive challenge and don't have enough funds in your account to pay the challenge fee, you will automatically be taken to the deposit screen. Deposits can be made using either a credit card or your PayPal account. Winnings are deposited directly into your individual GC Account. Click here to Deposit now.
- If all players involved choose to cancel a match/competition following its acceptance, the entry fee will be refunded to the accounts from which it was originally withdrawn. The service fee will be retained by GC.com.
- If an accepted match/competition is not completed within 24 hours of its acceptance, it will be cancelled and the entry fee will be refunded to the accounts from which it was originally withdrawn. The service fee will be retained by GC.com.
Gamer Coliseum Bracket Tournaments
Bracket Tournaments are single elimination tournaments that involve a predetermined number of participants (usually 4-32). An entry fee is paid for the initial round and all subsequent rounds are free. To enter the tournament, each player deposits the entry fee into his or her GC account. The tournament will begin after all participants are registered and all deposits are made. Every round is a two-player contest in which the victor advances to the next round, and the loser is eliminated from the competition. The competition proceeds in anticipation of a sole survivor who eliminates all other competitors. All bracket tournaments will expire if they do not receive enough entrants by the stated deadline. GC will notify you of upcoming tournaments via email and advertise these tournaments on site. The entry fee as well as the prize amount will be stated up front. There is no 10% administrative fee for Gamer Coliseum bracket tournaments.
- Gamer Coliseum does not pay other gamers to participate in competitions.
- The results and winners of each tournament will be determined by GC staff based on reported results by individual gamers and evidence sent forth by gamers in the case of a dispute. GC decisions are final. You agree to be bound by these determinations by virtue of your participation in any game, match or tournament posted on this Site.
- Gamer Coliseum does not control the outcome of any competition arranged on this Site
- Gamer Coliseum exists to facilitate, organize and award competitions between players. The buy-in amount (wager) and the jackpot are stated up front. A predetermined portion of the combined total of GC initiated tournament entry fees is retained by GC as a service fee.
Creating A Team
Gamer Coliseum Teams consist of a group of people that come together for the purpose of joining forces to play matches against other teams for cash prizes.
You have the option of creating a team or submitting a request to join another team. If you are creating a team, feel free to message friends/fellow gamers to join your team. If you are looking for a team to join, you can click on the team you would like to join on the Team page, then click the “Join? button. Your request will be sent to the team leader. Then, just sit back and await the response of the team leader/captain.
Team games are set up and accepted by the team leader(s)/captain(s). This originates in the “Challenge? section of the Team page.
Playing and Reporting an Established Competitive Challenge
All matches are played on the console/platform of your choosing as determined by the selections you made when either creating or accepting a challenge on this Site.
As a GC member you agree to adhere to the “Rules of The Coliseum? posted on this Site, in each match or tournament in which you participate. Failure to follow the most recent “Rules of The Coliseum? will result in your forfeiture of that game. The “Rules of the Coliseum? are available for your review at all times on this Site.
Established (accepted) competitive challenges must be played by the GC members contracted to play that particular game at a jointly agreed upon time and within the time period allotted in the “Rules of The Coliseum?. Challenges must also be reported within 24 hours of the end of the competitive challenge time period.
Once a competitive challenge result is reported and confirmed by all participants involved in a particular game without discrepancy, the winnings will automatically be deposited into the winner’s GC account.
Competitive challenges are directly dependent on the skill of the gamers involved. Outcomes lie in the hands of the more highly skilled competitor. Results of games/tournaments are totally out of the hands of GC.com. Knowing your opponent, is instrumental in determining your potential to win a given game or tournament.
Player Feedback
After you report the outome of a game or tournament, you are required to rate your opponent on both their sportsmanship and gaming expertise. Select between the five choices you are given in each of the two categories. Try to be objective in your ratings. Player feedback should never be based on whether or not you won or lost the match. These ratings are intended to assist other gamers in choosing future opponents as well as to be a symbol of your gaming experience with a particular gamer.
Competitive Challenge Result Disputes
In the event that a competitive challenge is disputed by any one of the challenge entrants, GC will make every effort to resolve this dispute in an unbiased manner.
When only one entrant reports the result of a game and this is neither contested nor confirmed by the other entrant(s) within the time period set up in the “Rules of The Coliseum?, the reported winner will be awarded the prize money directly into their GC account. GC will accept no disputes related to this matter following the lapse in the allotted time.
In the event that a challenge is neither played, nor reported, and the timeframe for both lapses, the challenge will be cancelled and the entry fees will be credited to the user accounts from which they were initially withdrawn. The GC service fee is never refunded after the competitive challenge is accepted.
If there is a difference in the result reported by the various participants of a competitive challenge GC reserves the right and complete authority to use a variety of means available to determine and confirm the winner. The decision made by GC is final and not debatable. Falsifying results or otherwise cheating in any way in an attempt to unfairly affect the true result of a competitive challenge will not be tolerated. If it is determined that a result is reported falsely, GC reserves the right and complete authority to suspend or terminate the account of the person submitting the false claim. If after review, GC is unable to determine a clear winner, the game will be voided or cancelled and the entry fees will be returned to the user accounts from which they were initially withdrawn. GC will retain the service fee, as this is not returned once a challenge is accepted and/or played by the gamers involved.
- All prize money will be deposited into the GC account of the person Determined to be the winner of a given competitive challenge or tournament.
- A record of all disputes will be kept and closely analyzed. The number of disputes brought forth by a given gamer will become a part of that gamer’s profile. If a person is found to have an excessive amount of disputes in a given period of time, GC reserves the right to suspend or terminate that person’s right to hold an account with GamerColiseum.com.
Your Recourse in a Dispute
Disputes are never intended to be a form of revenge for losing, or a routine way to argue about the result of a match.
You have 24 hours to submit evidence to support your case when a dispute occurs in relation to the outcome of a game or competitive challenge. This evidence should be concrete, legitimate, honest and conclusive. For example: sending pictures via email or fax, of the television or PC screen that include the usernames of the competitors involved, and a final score of the competitive challenge game or tournament in dispute. You can also send videotape of the game in dispute if you tape your games. Also, be sure to have stats emailed to you from EA sports in order to assist with the verification of the true victor of the game/match.
Gamer Coliseum reserves the right and complete authority to use a variety of means available to determine and confirm the winner. The decision made by GC is final and not debatable.
